    Policies: Weather-related Schedule Changes Special or emergency information is posted on our answering service. DELAYED OPENING We follow Montgomery County's decision to open school late with one exception: we never open more than 1 hour late. If the county opens 1 hour late, we open 1 hour late. If the county opens 2 hours late, we open 1 hour late. The schedule for opening late is as follows: Early Bird starts at 8:30 a.m. Classes begin at 9:30 a.m. CLOSING We follow the decisions of Montgomery County Public Schools. If the County closes, we close. EARLY DISMISSAL Weather may cause us to dismiss before 3:00 p.m. When this need arises, we call each family. If family members are delayed by the weather, a staff member stays and provides for those children awaiting pick-up. WEATHER EMERGENCIES Thunderstorms or high winds can knock out power, but we have battery-operated emergency lights that illuminate the hallways. We can operate successfully with less than full power for a few hours. If the emergency persists for more than a day, heating or cooling the building becomes an issue. You will be notified if such an emergency causes our regular schedule to change.
